Black Powder Flask, " Dog Hunting Pheasants", Circa 1830-!870, Antique Brass

$175.00
The artwork on this is truly beautiful. The motif in the raised medallion is of a dog hunting a pheasant in a forest setting. The medallion is showcased by two raised fluted patterns.

This beautiful flask was likely made in Britian in the 1830 - 1870-time frame. Perhaps by one of the flask makers in the Brimingham area. It is also possible it was made by the American Flask and Cap Co, though to my eye it is more likely British made. I cannot find a maker's stamp, h the spout is heavily oxidized, and I did not attempt to clean it. The spout does not work, I believe it is missing a spring. It is approx. 7 inches long and 3 1/4 inches wide at the widest point of the body. The copper has a warm patina, and the seams appear solid. Please refer to photos for full perspective.
