This interesting Box Style Butter Mold/Print was likely manufactured between 1910 and the 1920's. Factories began manufacturing butter molds during the last quarter of the 19th century, this continued into the 1920's. These types of molds are discussed in "Butter Prints and Molds", by Paul E. Kindig, starting on pg 79 and going through pg. 89.

This nice box mold is in good condition for its age and could be used if desired. The box is 6 inches long by 3 1/4 inches wide by 2 1/8 inches deep. The print is 5 1/4 inches long by 2 1/2 inches wide. The design is made up of two stylized geometric patterns framed by pairs of vertical and horizontal lines.
