Hand Carved Wooden Pipe, Alligator Motif,
$125.00
Lovers of unique pipe collectibles, take a look at this intricately carved, alligator motif, pipe.
I purchased this from an estate sale where it was marked as being "Seminole" in origin. I do not think this is correct. I can find no documentation on the Seminole nation using pipes at all.
This pipe showcases an intricately carved and highly detailed alligator resting on what appears to be a log. The bowl is pleasingly carved to accent the alligator. The pipe shows evidence of use and is missing the pipe stem.
It is approx. 5 inches long and the bowl stands approx. 1 1/2 inches tall. The outer diameter of the bowl is approx. 1 1/8 inches". This is a nice collector's piece, please keep in mind that though it shows signs of use, it is made of wood. Please refer to photos for full perspective.
