Lovers of Southwestern Pueblo Pottery, take a look at this beautiful Friendship Bowl.

Created by Santo Domingo Pueblo artist, Helen Sando Garcia, this bowl is approx. 3 5/8 inches in diameter at the top, the base is approx. 1 7/8 inches in diameter and the bowl stands approx. 4 1/4 inches tall at the tallest point.

The artist named these pieces friendship bowls. Every element in the design has significance, the circular body of the bowl represents the earth; the children around represent friendship for each other and relationship necessary to sustain a community. This bowl is a "Kiva" bowl, the ladder in the middle is a Kiva ladder. Signifying the relationship of the community to its sacred traditions and deep spirituality. The painted design on the outside of the bowl is representative of classic Santo Domingo pottery designs. The bowl is in very good condition with no chip's cracks or repairs. There is some minor wear appropriate for age. It is signed on the base by the artist. Please refer to photos for full perspective.
