Lionel O Gauge, No. 2531, Silver Dawn Observation Car, Tested, Lights Work Well, Very Good Condition
$95.00
Lionel produced this No. 2531, Silver Dawn Observation Car between 1952 and 1960. The car features left and right-side people silhouette inserts on the interior of the windows. It has Type VIII die-cast four-wheel passenger trucks equipped with magnetic couplers. Made of extruded aluminum, this observation car has silver painted end top, skirt and vestibule ends. Based on the rivet size used to attach the name plate, I believe this is a series "C" car.
The trucks are in good working order and lights have been tested and work nicely. There is very minor paint loss to the plastic painted surfaces, appropriate for light use and age. The aluminum is in good condition, clean with minimal accumulated dirt. The car came with a Lionel box, but it is not the correct box, it is for 2353T not this car which is 2531. As this is the way I found this piece, it is included with the car. Please carefully review photos for full perspective.
The car is approx. 16 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide and stands approx. 3 1/2 inches tall.
As always, thank you for stopping by the shop and for your interest in this piece, please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have.
