Model Train Lovers
Take a look at this nice, Postwar, Lionel 6462, black gondola car with six unstained barrels. Lionel introduced this model in 1949 as a top-of-the-line gondola. This car does not have steps at the corners or brake wheels, suggesting it was produced in 1950.
This car is appropriate for use on 0- or 027-gauge track, there are some signs of use. Accumulated dirt appropriate for age, some small loss to white paint. Painted lettering and numbers remain clear and easily read, for its age, this little car is in good condition. All parts are intact and identifying lettering and numbers remain crisp. The trucks are in good condition and wheels turn freely. The car comes with its original box, which has some damage, but remains in very acceptable condition for its age. I have attempted to show condition of both the car and its box in the photos, please refer to those for full perspective.
The gondola is approx. 10 5/8 inches long from the end of coupler to the end of the other coupler. It stands approx. 2 inches tall and is approx. 2 1/8 inches wide. The box is approx. 9 3/4 inches long, 2 1/4 inches wide and 2 1/8 inches tall.
