Lionel, O Gauge, Silver Range, Vista-Dome Car No. 2532, Tested, Lights Work Well, Very Good Condition

$125.00
Lionel identifies this No. 2532 car as a Silver Range Vista-Dome. It was produced between 1952 and 1960. The car features left and right-side people silhouette inserts on the interior of the windows. The car has Type VIII die-cast four-wheel passenger trucks equipped with magnetic couplers. This extruded aluminum vista-dome car has a silver painted roof dome and vestibule ends. Lionel introduced the use of the words "Vista-Dome" to describe this car on the Middle Classic Box in 1955. Prior to this Lionel called this car "Astra-Dome." The car has 6 variations, based on the size of the rivets used to attach the name plate. My assessment of the size is that these are large rivets, making this a "C".

The trucks are in good working order and lights have been tested and work nicely. There is very minor paint loss to the plastic painted surfaces, appropriate for light use and age. The aluminum is in good condition, clean with minimal accumulated dirt. The car is approx. 16 1/2 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide and stands approx. 4 1/8 inches tall from the base to the peak of the Vista Window. Please carefully review photos for full perspective.
