Santa Fe, #223, O gauge, model train engine in good condition, tested and working well with "B" unit included.
Lionel describes this engine as: Santa Fe Alco FA No. 223, available only in 1963 and painted to replicate the Santa Fe war bonnet passenger diesel engine. It has black heat-stamped lettering and a nose decal on the A Unit. A two-position directional unit whose control lever is adjustable from the top of the body controls the direction of this engine. A single vertical worm drive motor powers two axles that utilize Magnatraction on one of these axles. The sheet metal chassis has solid non-operating couplers. The A Unit is lighted and equipped with a horn. Comes with a No. 218C B unit that does not have the "BLT 8-57" date. All of the Lionel Alco FA units are designed to work on the tighter radius of O27 Gauge track, but they will run equally well on O Gauge track. This vintage Santa Fe Engine with B unit is in good condition for its age and use. There is evidence of minor paint loss and minor scuffing. Please carefully review photos for full perspective.
