The bottle stands approx. 8 1/2 inches tall. The neck is approx. 1 7/8 inches long, external diameter of the lip is approx. 1 inch. The base is approx. 3 inches square. The bottle was hand blown into a mold and retains bubbles in the glass from this process. There is one small chip that can be felt in the lip. For its age and use it is in good condition. The bottle is embossed on two opposite sides, one side reading Schenck's the other side reading Tonic. This bottle is more difficult to find than older versions of the same product which would have included the word Seaweed on another face of the bottle. The absence of the word seaweed dates this bottle to 1880 or later. Founded in 1830 by Joseph H. Schenck, this popular patent medicine came in square aqua glass bottles dating back to before the Civil War.
