Native American Clay Pipe, Zuni Artist, P. Peynetsa

$225.00
Collectors of Native American Pottery and Art. This lovely piece is signed by a recognized Zuni artist, P. Peynetsa. Identified as Priscilla Peynetsa in the book "Eyes of the Pot" this artist is described as an award-earning potter born into Zuni Pueblo in 1961. She began her career in 1980. The motif painted on this pipe is classic Zuni, delicately painted deer with heart arrows and a serpent that winds its way from the mouthpiece to the end of the pipe bowl. The pipe is formed of fired clay and drafts appropriately, suggesting it could be used, however I cannot advise or recommend its use as this is a clay piece. It is in good condition with no obvious signs of damage, there is soiling appropriate for age and handling. Please refer to pictures for full perspective.

The pipe measures approx. 7 3/4 inches long, the bowl stands 2 1/4 inches tall and the stem is approx. 1 1/4 inches wide.

As always, thank you for stopping by the shop and for your interest in this beautiful piece. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions.
