Native American made, Leather Knife Sheath and Bone Handle Knife

$325.00
This very interesting piece is a antique knife sheath and hand made bone handle knife. The leather has been hand stamped and embossed with brass nail heads. The outside is polished tooled leather, it is lined with split leather to protect the knife blade and maintain the integrity of the polished leather. The polished leather and split leather were machine stitched together, the back and front of the sheath are secured with rivets, possibly steel as there is some surface evidence of rust on the rivets.
The knife blade is quite old and the steel pitted, though it retains a sharp edge, evidence that it has been recently sharpened. The handle is bone and wrapped in what appears to be a burlap type of material bound with twine. The knife is 10 inches long from tip to end of handle. The blade itself is 6 inches long from the tip to where it enters the handle, The handle is 4 1/4 inches long.
The leather sheath is 12 inches long, the body is 2 1/4 inches wide.
