$550.00
Lovers of Southwestern American History, take a look at this very interesting Stereoview. Taken during George A. Custer's "Expedition to the Black Hills" in 1873, this expedition resulted in discovery of gold in the Black Hills. The resulting stampede of miners into the Black Hills led to conflicts with Indians over land, ending in the Sioux wars. During this period, in what remains a very controversial move, Custer led his entire command to attack an overwhelming force of Sioux warriors in the valley of the Little Big Horn. This battle came to be known as Custer's last stand as he and all the men he led into this battle were killed.
