Trinket Box, Dark Oak with Scrimshawed Medallion Accent, Artist Signed, Pacific Northwest Theme
$45.00
Fishermen or lovers of the Pacific Northwest, take a look at this unique little box.
Perfect as a trinket box for the top of a dresser or use on an office desk. The box is well constructed, with a hinged lid that opens and closes easily. The outer edges of the box are framed by thin inlays of darker oak and there are four round felt "feet" on the base to protect any surface this box is placed on. All four corner edges have been carefully beveled. The highlight of this nice piece is a highly detailed, scrimshawed medallion with a wonderful depiction of what looks to be to be a large trout jumping out of the water, with a background of mountains. The main image is framed by bisected totem poles, topped by an eagle. The artist has signed the medallion, S. Gray. I could not find any information on this artist, but whoever it is, is highly skilled. There are two hairline cracks in the polished bone that are visible but do not impact the structural integrity of the medallion.
The box is approx. 4 1/4 inches wide, approx. 3 1/2 inches deep and approx. 2 7/8 inches tall. The medallion is oval in shape with the widest measurement approx. 3 inches long. Please carefully review all photos for full perspective.
As always, thank you for stopping by the shop and for your interest in this piece. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you might have.
