Union Metallic Cartridges Co., No. 2 Primer, Advertising Tin, Circa Mid to late 1800's
$35.00
Collectors of Antique Advertising Tins, take a look at this very old A. C. Hobbs/Union Metallic Cartridges Co. Primer Tin.
The top of this tin retains about 50-60% of its original, paper lithographed label. The label identifies the product it originally contained as No. 2 Primer Caps, for paper and brass shot shells interchanging with other No. 2 primers. Produced by the Union Metallic Cartridges Co. of Bridgeport Conn. Originally it would have held 250 primers, it is currently empty.
The tin is empty, and I have not opened it, preferring to leave it in "as found" condition. The remains of the period correct lithographed label are easy to read. The tin has the soiling, scratches and loss to paper label expected with its age and use.
The tin measures approx. 1 1/2 inches in diameter and is approx. 7/8 inch tall. Please carefully review photos for full perspective.
As always, thank you for stopping by the shop and for your interest in this piece. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have.
